Attend our Reactive Dog class, for dogs that are difficult to handle. They bark, lunge, become excited, reactive or aggressive towards other dogs while on leash. This class is designed to make you a more confident handler with the tools to train, control, relax and refocus your dog.

This program is positive reinforcement based, designed to help the dog that aggresses towards unfamiliar dogs while on leash. You will learn: why your dog behaves aggressively; what triggers the behavior; how to reduce reactivity; and how to best manage the environment to improve your dog's quality of life. You will learn about brain functions, arousal levels, recovery time, canine communication signals and how to use counter-conditioning and desensitization techniques. Reactive Dog class is not a cure for your dog but will show you how to handle and train your dog to work toward your goals. It will give you the opportunity to practice with other dogs under the guidance of our certified behavior specialists.

Several private sessions are required before you and your dog can begin this class.  In the private sessions we will set up a management plan that will help you get through your walks without rehearsing, teach you several foundation behaviors and help prepare you for the first class with dogs. It also gives us a chance to get to know you and your dog so we can plan the most effective class based on your needs.
